Rishabh Pant may not have done the expected performance in the current session of the Indian Premier League (IPL), but the Mentor (Guide) of Lucknow Super Giant Zaheer Khan has said that the capacity and ability of this wicketkeeper batsman never doubted.
Pant, who was purchased at a huge price of Rs 27 crore in the mega auction, scored just 269 runs in 13 innings. He scored 118 runs from 61 balls in the last match of the team’s season but despite this, his team suffered a defeat to Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Zaheer told reporters after the match, “He performed really well as captain. This was a positive aspect for us throughout the session. His performance with the bat was definitely a learning experience for him, as such a session was very important for him. “But he had no doubt on his ability and ability.”
