After Engvsind Rishabh Pant’s brilliant century, Jasprit Bumrah showed his fast bowling but with the help of hundreds of Oli Pope, England scored 209 runs for three wickets on Saturday, the second day of the first cricket Test against India.
Pope is playing scoring 100 while Harry Brook has not opened the account yet. India’s first innings score is just 262 runs behind by 471 runs. Brook is lucky that in the last over, Bumrah’s ball on which Mohammad Siraj caught his catch, was called no ball.
All England batsmen were harassed by Bumrah, although Pope, who played county cricket for Sarre, faced him firmly. Bumrah had already stopped England from starting well by dismissing Jacques Caruli (four) in the first over.
Caruli also looked uncomfortable on the first three balls and caught Karun Nair in the first slip off the fourth ball.
Ben Docket (62 off 94 balls) added 122 runs for the second wicket with the Pope. Bumrah would get another wicket in the seventh over but Ravindra Jadeja left the catch of Docket at the backward point when he was for 15 runs.
Mohammad Siraj could not bowl disciplined from the other end and gave many waste runs. The third fast bowler, the famous Krishna also gave the batsmen opportunities to play openly.
Bumrah left Docket in his third spell and curbed England’s rung. Indian captain Shubman Gill took a long time to hand over the ball to fast bowler Shardul Thakur and was finally called in the 34th over.
After using Joe Root DRS off Siraj’s ball, avoid habits. On the other hand, Pope completed a century by taking a run off Bumrah’s ball. Bumrah added this partnership of 80 runs for the third wicket by dismissing Root at the right time.

Earlier, Pant scored a brilliant century and Gill scored the highest Test score of the career but England scored seven wickets within 112 runs and dismissed India for 471 runs. India started playing their yesterday score by 359 runs for three wickets.
Pant, playing on a score of 65 in the morning, kept the strike for most of the time. He shared a 209 -run partnership for the fourth wicket with Gill. Pant also got a life of life on a score of 124 when Jamie Smith missed the opportunity to stumps out by off -spinner Shoaib Bashir.
Earlier, Pant reached 94 runs with a six and then came to 99 by scoring one run. He has fallen victim to nervous nineties seven times in Test cricket, so he played carefully.
After this, he completed the seventh Test century of his career by hitting Bashir a six. Along with this, he became the wicketkeeper batsman to score the most Test century for India by beating Mahendra Singh Dhoni (six centuries).
Gill was caught by Bashir at the backward square leg at the hands of Josh Tong. India’s new Test captain Gill scored the highest personal test score of the career. Earlier, he scored 128 runs against Australia in 2023 in Ahmedabad.
Karun Nair, who returned to the team after eight years, had a golden opportunity to give his Test career a second life but he could not even open the account by playing four balls. India got a shock in the last minutes before lunch when Pant was caught by Tung. Been Stokes sent Shardul Thakur (one) to the pavilion before the lunch break. (Language)
