India is very dependent on Bumrah, Kuldeep should be fed: Azharuddin

Former captain Mohammad Azharuddin said that India should feed the left -handed wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav in Edgbaston Test against England to add more experiences in his bowling attack and reduce the burden on fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah.

In the first Test in Leeds, the Indian team lost by five wickets in which the visiting team depended on Bumrah for the wickets.

Azharuddin told ‘PTI video’, “He is very much dependent on Bumrah. This is not easy because you need more experienced bowlers and they should feed Kuldeep Yadav. ,

Now the Indian team will play in the second Test in Birmingham from July 2 in which the pitch is expected to be dry, which can help Kuldeep some help. India scored a good score of 471 runs in the first innings with the help of centuries of captain Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rishabh Pant.

With the help of KL Rahul and Pant’s centuries, he scored 364 runs in the second innings. But due to the failure of the middle and final order batsmen in both innings, the visiting team could not achieve a strong score or target.

Azharuddin talked about keeping the team combination right so that the team could be taken out of Leeds’ defeat.

He said, “We lost due to the failure of batting, but now they have to choose the right players and bowling should also be correct. ,

Azharuddin (62 years) defended the new Test captain Gill, saying that he should be given enough time to prove his ability.

He said, “This is his first match as captain. You cannot talk about captaincy. It is too early to talk about captaincy. ,

Azharuddin, who won 14 out of 47 Tests as captain, said, “We should give him a proper opportunity and he has just taken command.” So you should give them a lot of time and support. We cannot only complain and criticize the players. ” (Language)
