Only four players of the South Africa team, which won the finals of the World Test Championship against Australia last month, were part of the match.
The team declared the first innings for 418 runs for nine wickets while scoring 369 runs in the second innings. Zimbabwe scored 251 in the first innings and 208 runs in the second innings.
The nineteen-year-old Luan-Dre Pritorius was adjudged ‘Player of the Match’ for the innings of 153 runs in his debut match. Two other players who made the Test debut were also impressed by Dewald Bravis and Kodi Yusuf. Brevis scored 51 runs and took one wicket, while medium -speed bowler Yusuf took three wickets for 42 runs in the first innings and three wickets for 22 runs in the second innings.
