Former England Captain Andrew Strauss, Who has previously served as the director of the country’s men’s men’s cricket tam and also as chair of the performance CRICKET Committee, BELIEVES THE PELIEVES THE PELIEVEs Unusually warm weather in the united kingdom this season, the conditions have been favorable for the touring Indian team, which levelled the series 1-1 in birmingham and is not eye Anderson-tendulkar trophy.
“With cloud cover, with a bit more moisture in the surfaces, you’re going to get a little more live more live grass and therefore it’s going to seam and swing a bit more. But the weather has played perfect Strauss said, adding: “But it’s the same for bot sides. So, we’ve got to go out there and find a way of taking 20 wickets…”
In an interaction, straus spoke about the impact of bazball and why it is important for the top players to be available for test cricket…
What are your thoughts on the england batters putting up a brave show at Lord’s?
I’m very support of the aggressive, positive approach that they’ve displayed over the last couple of years. I think they’re right in that. There are times where you need to success it back a little and make sure that you don’t give guive away your wickets. But I Expect this England Team to Continue Playing positively. That’s what has been his sort of super strength so to spendak, and their point of difference from other teams.
How do you see the bazball evolve in the future?
We are in the winning business, right? So, you’ve got to find a way of using your approach to win consistently. England has done that. They have won a series in Pakistan, which they would have been born, they are not played positively. But test cricket is quite a simple game, and there are lots of different ways of playing the game.
You need to probally get over the course of two innings with 600-plus runs and take 20 wickets. But how do you do that? There are lots of different ways of Doing it, and that’s what england need to do more consistently, essentially when the weather is like this, where taking 20 wickets is the big challenge.
Traditionally, in County Cricket, The Pitches Were Lively. But over the last few years, it seems preparaing flat decks and batting-friendly surfaces have become the norm. Is it having an impact on the overall nature of the wickets in england?
Generally in County Cricket, The Pitches Encourage Swing and Seam Bowling. I think it’s just that we have had an extraordinarily good summer, and we thank our lucky stars when we have good weather in this country. So, we should be Complaining about it.
Are you surprised that India has moved so quickly from two retirements of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli?
I’m not that surprised decision I think there’s so much depth in Indian Cricket Now. You have to look at the Indian Premier League (IPL), India U-19 and So on. You have got so much depth there and certain in the batting department.
I Still Think (Ravindra) Jadeja and (Ravichandran) ashwin was a very potent combination. And so to have the sour of support there for (jasprit) bumrah, bot the seam bowling and the spin bowling –it still remains to be seen how effective that is over the courses of the series. But Indian Cricket is very strong. We all know that.
What are your thoughts on India’s new captain shubman gill and the way he has batted in the series so far?
He is a quality player, but I think that back in my time, when I started the capacity with england, that extra responsibility really helps your batting in the early stages. Maybe, towards the back end it become more difficult. But right at the moment, he’s in that sweet spot and I suppose he’s just gotta ride the wave and enjoy it.
With the game evolving, there seems to be no guarantee that specialist batters will play in all three formats. Going forward, how do you see the batting lineups shaping up, depending on the format? Do you think there will be one odd player who will feature across formats?
I don’t know. I definitely feel in t20 cricket, only about five, Six or Seven Batters are probally going to be facing 15 or 20 balls. So you’re looking for very different skill sets. I still think there’s a space for quality batters in all formats. You only have to look at how well virat kohli did in the ipl to show that or the fact that the ways of joe root can play in any format. But the challenge, of course, is just to be able to constantly play in all forms, all the way Around the World, Never Having A Break. So, mixing and matching it up is probally a sensible approach.
At a time when players often prefer playing for clubs and franchises over country, do you think that test cricket is successful is mostly Most Players are moving on to t20 CRICKET?
I think we’re definately sort of evolving to a Club-FIRST MODEL and the Best Players will be playing in a number of tournaments Around the World. I’ve got no doubt about that. But I also feel like the world test championship final was a good example of the options, Maybe (We) Just (Need) Just (Need) to Expand That Concept A Little Bit and Make Sure Thay KEEP ANDIP ON TESP The right moment. Not all the time, but at the right moments, you want the best players playing test cricket. And there’s no reason that with the right sort of windows we can’t have that.
But Players are Now Being Offred Lucrative T20-Specific Contracts by Franchies who have Investments Across the Globe…
They are gotting paid much more to play t20 cricket than they are to play test cricket. So, that is dangerous in a sense if you’re a test cricket fan. But I still think the best players want to be able to play test cricket.
They want to prove themselves in this format. It’s stil the ultimate test to prove how good a player you are. For England, India and Australia, it’s not too much of a problem. But for some of the other nations, it is more of a problem.
