Vaibhav Suryavanshi broke Bangladesh’s Mehdi Hasan Miraj’s Youth Test record
In the first Test of the series, Suryavanshi struggled with the bat in the first innings and was dismissed for just 14 runs. He made a comeback in the second innings and scored 56 runs in 44 balls. In the first innings, Suryavanshi also caught everyone’s attention in bowling. After this, he also took two wickets for the team from his spin. With this performance, Suryavanshi became the first player to score a half -century in the same youth Test before the age of 15 and take a wicket.

Earlier, the youngest player to achieve this feat was Mehdi Hasan Miraj of Bangladesh. He did this feat against Sri Lanka in Mirpur at 15 years and 167 days in 2013. He was also the youngest player to achieve it twice. Former Indian cricketer Suresh Raina is also included in this list. He achieved this feat against England in 2002 at the age of 15 years and 242 days in Colombo.
In response, England were dismissed for 439 runs, with Rocky Flintoff scored the highest 93 runs. Henil Patel took three wickets for India. In the second innings, India was dismissed for 248 runs in which Malhotra scored the highest 63 runs. Archie Vaughan took six wickets for England. The victory required 350 runs, England could only score 270/7 runs and the match was drawn. The second youth test will begin on Sunday, July 20 in Chelmsford.
