Inspired by the way Sudarshan was dismissed in Leeds, England deliberately pushed the ball to the leg side. Ben Stokes would have dismissed Sudarshan almost in the same way but Jamie Smith left a normal catch on the leg stump which gave this Indian batsman a life. He was then on 20 runs.
Taking advantage of luck, he played some bridge shots off Archer’s ball and then played backfoot shot off Stokes.

In the morning session, Jaiswal also survived the difficult spell of Chris Woakes, while Rahul batted strongly as usual, India scored 78 runs without any loss.
