New Delhi: BCCI Secretary Devjit Saikia said that the cricket match between India and Pakistan in the Asia Cup is in line with the central government policy and the BCCI is satisfied with this. The Asia Cup will start in UAE from September 9, where both arch-rival teams will face face-to-face at Dubai International Stadium on 14 September.

He said in a special interview to PTI video on Friday, ‘BCCI’s stand is very clear, we are with the central government. The Government of India has made a policy and we have to fully follow that policy and it is very comfortable for us to follow that policy.

Saikia postponed the question related to the possibility of captaining Gill in all three formats, as they are at the forefront of this high-profile role.

With the ODI Women’s World Cup to be held in India and Sri Lanka from 30 September, Saikia hopes that the hosts will perform well in the tournament.
