New Delhi. World number one all-rounder Hardik Pandya will play in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 tournament. Hardik’s elder brother Krunal Pandya will captain Baroda in this domestic T20 tournament of India. Last time’s runner-up Baroda team has become stronger with the return of Hardik. Hardik recently played an important role in helping India win the four-match T20 series 3-1 in South Africa. Baroda team is adorned with star players. Hardik is returning to this tournament after 8 years. He last played in this tournament in 2016. After this he did not play in it due to the commitments of the national team.
Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Tournament is starting from 23rd November. When Hardik Pandya last played in this tournament, he did not debut in international cricket. He last played in Ranji Trophy in 2018. Recently, BCCI had asked its players to play domestic cricket in their free time. The then head coaches Rahul Dravid and Rohit Sharma also agreed with this. Both of them said that playing domestic cricket will benefit the players and they will be able to improve their skills.
Hardik Pandya does not play test
Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer had recently refused to play domestic cricket. After which the board had released him from his annual contract. After this strict attitude of BCCI, Ishaan and Shreyas were later seen playing domestic cricket. Hardik Pandya does not play test cricket. India does not have to play any limited overs international series this year. Pandya will play Syed Mushtaq Ali tournament in his free time. Baroda team has been placed in Group B along with Gujarat, Uttarakhand, Tamil Nadu, Tripura, Saurashtra, Karnataka and Sikkim.
Hardik Pandya became number one all-rounder
Hardik Pandya has reached number one in the T20 all-rounder rankings released by ICC on Wednesday. He achieved the number one position by leaving behind England’s Liam Livingstone. Hardik had performed brilliantly on the South Africa tour. Hardik has become the number one all-rounder for the second time.
