BCCI Secretary Gives Update on Next BCCI President: The new president of BCCI will be decided soon. Roger Binny vacated the post after turning 70 in July.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India will organize an annual general meeting (AGM) at the end of September. The next presidential candidate is expected to be discussed in the upcoming AGM. Saikia told ANI, “Very soon, a notice will be issued about the next action. The AGM is to be before September 30. BCCI will follow its constitution which is applicable. According to the Constitution, we have to organize our AGM before the end of September. So this year also we will do our AGM before 30 September. Notice will be issued in one or two days before September 30.”

In June, the report of Binny’s withdrawal from the post came on social media, while vice -president Rajiv Shukla emerged as the biggest contender to replace him. According to sources, Shukla, who is 66 years old next week, will hold the post of president on an interim basis. Sources also indicated that Shukla may stand for the post of president in the upcoming AGM.
Roger was elected as the 36th President of BCCI in October 2022. He replaced former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly and completed his three -year term. While his president, India won the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 and the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Apart from this, the Women’s Premier League (WPL) also started.
