Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on Saturday defeated Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by two runs in the playoffs with 16 points in the playoff with 16 points.
At the Chinnaswamy Stadium, RCB scored 213 runs for five wickets in the first five wickets, in response to which Chennai could only manage 211 runs for five wickets in 20 overs. After Jacob Bethel (55) and Virat Kohli (62) from Bangalore, Romario Shepherd (53 runs unbeaten, 14 balls four fours and six sixes) played an important role in setting a challenging targets in front of Chennai Super Kings (CSK).
In response, Ayush Mhatre (94) and Ravindra Jadeja (77 not out) batted brilliantly and made a successful attempt to stay around the necessary run rates. Luck was also supported in his work when the fielders of Bengaluru dripped four easy catch. In the last over, Chennai needed 15 runs to win, but Yash Dayal forced Chennai to face another defeat by bowling disciplined. On the no ball thrown by Yash in the final over, Shivam Dubey (8) had returned his team by hitting a six, but Dayal allowed the last two balls to take a single and snatched the match from the jaw of Chennai.
17 -year -old Mhatre proved to be another successful discovery of India through IPL. Mhatre, who missed by just six runs, hit nine fours and five sixes in 48 balls. At the other end, Jadeja also opened his hands today but could not save Chennai from defeat.

Earlier, Bethel and Kohli made a bang for Bengaluru, while in the last overs, all the applause of the audience was looted when they did not only complete their half -century while batting in the 19th and 20th over but also played an important role in keeping a challenging goal in front of Chennai.
After Kohli and Bethel were dismissed, the middle order of Bangalore was seen in pressure in front of the bowlers of Chennai. On these delicate moments, Shepherd came out as a storm. In the 19th over of the innings, he boiled on the field by hitting four sixes and two sixes on the balls of Khalil Ahmed, while in the last over, Patairana’s disciplined bowling was stunned.
Earlier, Chennai won the toss and invited Bengaluru to bat first. The pair of openers Bethel and Kohli took an aggressive stand from the very first over of the match and tightened the Chennai bowlers and ran the scoreboard fast. Bethel hit eight fours and two sixes in his half -century innings, while at the other end, Kohli hit five fours and so many sixes.
Captain Dhoni changed his bowlers to break this participation that was getting dangerous and finally he gave the tenth over of the innings to Mahisha Pathirana who did not disappoint the captain and made Bethel walk in his first over, while Sam Karan showed the path of the pavilion to Karan when the short ball was hit by the Kohli backward point.
After falling two wickets one after the other, the speed of RCB’s runs also decreased and in an attempt to overcome the pressure, Devdutt Padikkal (17) was caught by Pathirana on a luling ball of Ravindra Jadeja. Chennai was given the fourth success by Noor Ahmed as a wicket of Jitesh Sharma (7). Due to pressure, Rajat Patidar (11) became Patirana’s third victim in the third over.
