Earlier, South Africa tried to return by losing 78 runs in the morning session and losing the only wicket in the form of Bavuma (36). Dakshin Africa started the day by 43 runs for four wickets.
Bavuma started Starc with two fours while Bedingham also saw this fast bowler’s ball to the boundary.
Bavuma took Cummins ball to the audience after hitting Stark and Hazlewood, but then caught Labushen at the covers off the Australian captain. Bavuma faced 84 balls and hit four fours and a six.
Bedingham and Verene then carried the innings forward. Wirene completed a century of the team’s runs in the 45th over with a run off the ball of Bu Webster. Bedingham hit two fours on the webster in the final over before lunch.
During lunch, there was a slight delay at the beginning of the second session due to rains but the cummen remained completely dominated when the match began. The Camings gave South Africa a double blow by dismissing Verene (13) and Marco Yansen (00) in their second over.
Cummins made a reliable appeal of Pagbadha against Werene but the field umpire turned down this. However, Verene had to return to the pavilion after taking DRS.
Cummins also grabbed Yansen on his own ball two balls. The Australian captain caught Bedingham by wicketkeeper Alex Carrie to give a big blow to South Africa and scored 135 runs for eight wickets.
Keshav Maharaj (07) was then run out in an attempt to take a second run, while Cummins caught Rabada (01) at the hands of webster and consolidated South Africa’s innings and took the 300th Test wicket of his career.(Language)
