Engvsind Indian all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy is out of the remaining matches of Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy due to knee injury. The Indian Cricket Control Board (BCCI) said on Monday that Nitish Kumar Reddy suffered left knee injuries. The injury was on him during the practice of gym in Manchester on Sunday and the ligament damage in the scan was confirmed.
Before the third Test starting on Wednesday, India suffered another setback due to Nitish Kumar’s injury.
Earlier, fast bowlers Akash Deep and Arshdeep Singh are also injured and Arshdeep has been out of the fourth Test. Meanwhile, Anshul Kamboj has been included in the team as a fast bowling option.
Reddy played the second and third Tests after being out of the first Test in Leeds. He could not leave a special impact in Birmingham. He scored only two runs in the match and did not get any wicket in six overs bowling. However, at Lord’s, he took the wickets of England’s top order. In the first innings, both England openers Ben Docket and Jack Crolee were dismissed in a single over and again in the second innings, Crolee was dismissed. After this, he also scored 30 and 13 runs with the bat.
India has so far fed fast bowlers all -rounders in all three Tests. In the first Test played in Birmingham, Nitish was fed to Shardul Thakur in place of Nitish. After Nitish’s injury, the management will now have to show confidence in Shardul Thakur. Apart from this, there is a management concerns about the workload on Jasprit Bumrah.
