14 -year -old batsman Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who left an indelible mark in his debut session, says that he would like to do double for his team Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League next year. Suryavanshi set a record by an Indian batsman (35 balls) by an Indian batsman during the innings of seven fours and 11 sixes against Gujarat Titans against Gujarat Titans in Jaipur in April.
During this stormy innings, Suryavanshi also became the record for scoring the second fastest century in the IPL, in addition to his name, at the age of 14 years and 32 days, men also became the youngest scorer in T20 cricket.
In a video shared by the official website of the IPL, Suryavanshi said, “Playing in the IPL is like a dream and I got a lot of positive things from my first session and I also learned what I can do for the team in the next session.”
Despite Royals’ disappointing campaign, left -handed batsman Suryavanshi tasted success on the individual front when he was awarded the ‘IPL Super Striker of the Season’ award after concluding the final on Tuesday.
Suryavanshi said, “Next year I will work on areas where I made mistakes and will try to perform better for the team.”
Talking about the learning from the first session, Suryavanshi said, “My learning is that I will have to do better from my performance so that my team can also play in the final next year and I will focus on how much I can contribute to the team next year.”
Seeing the performance of Suryavanshi, he was also selected in India’s Under-19 team for a tour of England along with Ayush Mhatre of Mumbai. Mhatre made a successful debut for Chennai Super Kings in the IPL.
Suryavanshi said, “This is a new competition. I am going to Britain for the first time so it will be a new experience. I will feel how the game goes there. “He said,” This time Ayush Mhatre, who plays for Chennai Super Kings, is our captain.
